The RS/IST-ID facilities are located in the Technological and Nuclear Campus of Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade Lisboa near Lisbon. These facilities are licensed for handling a wide range of radionuclides relevant for the design, development and preclinical evaluation of radiolabeled molecules and nanoparticles for Molecular Imaging (PET and SPECT), Targeted Radionuclide Therapy and Theranostic applications.
A multidisciplinary team of researchers can support the main steps of the development and preclinical evaluation of radiopharmaceuticals through the access to the following dedicated facilities (https://c2tn.tecnico.ulisboa.pt/facilities):
- Laboratories for Radiosynthesis (hot cells, glove boxes and fume hoods for the safe handling of various radionuclides).
- Laboratories for Cellular Studies (fully equipped for cell culture, shielded fume cupboard and shielded biohazard cabinet dedicated for cell studies of radiolabelled compounds).
- Laboratory for Animal Studies approved by the National Authority for small rodents’ experimentation. Animal housing facility with individual ventilated cage system; laminar flow cabinet, shielded fume hoods for animal handling and injection of radioactive compounds.
